AJ Rossman started the quest to realize a net zero commercial building in New England when his company, Draker Solar Properties, purchased the building at 12 North St. and created Vermont Green Offices on October 15, 2004. AJ developed the space with the hope of demonstrating that the goal of net zero is attainable today with vision and determination.

Over the past five years, Vermont Green Offices has added on-site generation with a 4.2kW PV array, energy efficiency measures including thermal blinds and increased the passive solar efficiency of the building through the addition of an interior thermal break in the front atrium area of the second floor. This thermal break also defines the solar laboratory used by tenant Draker Laboratories for long term equipment testing.

In keeping with our ongoing quest to reach net zero, Vermont Green Offices is currently undergoing several new exciting upgrades including floor coverings, wall treatments and more. Please check back regularly (or subscribe to our RSS Feed) for breaking news on these and other exciting developments.
