Vermont Green Offices’ (VGO) mission is to assist in the development of renewable energy technologies – and demonstrate their many benefits – while providing invigorating workspace for emerging green businesses.
To this end, our building at 12-22 North St. in Burlington, VT seeks to realize the state-of-the-art, high-performance solar building that it was originally designed to be 25 years ago. Passive and active renewable energy systems incorporated in the VGO building are monitored, quantified and displayed on-site on flat-panel displays and over the Internet. The building also provides tenants (such as the Vermont Smart Resource Institute) with a practical testing grounds to assess new renewable energy equipment and monitoring technologies. Heating and cooling, high-speed Internet, partial green energy and recycling/composting services are provided to tenants and included in their overall rent.
