May, 2011, has been a busy month as we continue preparing our spaces for new tenants and making substantive improvements. Among the changes taking place, we’ve radically expanded our video-conferencing capabilities in our conference room, we’ve installed engineering stations with touch-screen computers throughout the building, we’ve created several new workspaces, we’re continuing to pursue sustainable floor coverings for all surfaces, and much more! 2011 is shaping up to be another great year for growth at Vermont Green Offices! In keeping with our mission of successfully growing green businesses, our largest tenant, Draker Laboratories, has moved into a larger space across town. While we lament the loss of Draker, and wish them all the best in their new space, we welcome the opportunity to work with new tenants. As such, we’ve set aside a few weeks of down time to make sure everything in our space is in top order before offering it to you, our valued clients. Walls are being painted with low-VOC paints, floors are being re-surfaced with green products, cabinets built with local materials are being installed, new sustainably-manufactured furnishings are being purchased, lighting is transitioning to LED; and, much more! 2010 was a great year for growth at Vermont Green Offices! Continuing improvements have brought numerous upgrades such as: installation of advanced LED lights, along with replacement of CFL bulbs with LED bulbs; carpeting of Solar Laboratory and most office spaces with sustainably manufactured carpet tiles; reinforcement of building mechanicals including data network, heating system, and renewable energy systems; the green-space behind our building (w/ ample room for picnics, gardening, etc.) fenced in for security and comfort; replacement of plumbing fixtures; and, much more!
